Map
Plot records with location data on an interactive map, then open or update records from their markers.
The Map view plots records that contain latitude and longitude data. It uses the Location/Map custom field as the location source.

Add and identify locations
In a record, select the location icon to add your current location. Blue stores the location in the record’s Location/Map custom field.
Map pins use the record’s primary tag color. This helps you identify record categories on the map.
Use map markers
- Open one record: Select a marker that represents one record. Blue opens its details panel.
- Open colocated records: Select a marker that represents multiple records at one location. Select a record from the picker to open it.
- Change a location: Drag a single-record marker to a new position. Blue updates the field and converts the coordinates to an address.
- Navigate the map: Zoom, pan, or move the map to your current location.
- Apply filters: The Map view retains all filters that you apply in other views.
- Fit markers: When the map loads, Blue adjusts it to show all markers on the screen.

Dark mode
The Map view follows Blue’s current light or dark theme. It follows your operating system when Blue’s theme is Auto.
Map styles
By default, Blue uses Stadia Maps. Available tile styles include OpenStreetMap, Outdoors, Terrain, Smooth Dark, High Contrast, and Watercolour.
Blue switches between light and dark tile styles based on Blue’s current theme.
Google Maps
You can use Google Maps instead of the default Stadia Maps tiles. Google Maps can provide more map detail and more accurate location data in some areas.
This option requires a Google Maps API key. An organization owner must enter the key in organization settings.
