Multi-Homing Records

Have the same record live in multiple workspaces at once, with synchronized fields and comments.

Multi-homing places the same record in more than one workspace. It does not create a copy.

Changes to shared record data appear in every workspace that contains the record. Use multi-homing when multiple teams need to work with one record.

For example, add a Sales record to an Onboarding workspace. You can also add one brief to both a Content workspace and a campaign workspace.

Add a record to another workspace

  1. Open the record.
  2. Find the Workspaces field.
  3. Select + Add.
  4. Select the destination workspace.
  5. Select the destination list. Blue adds the record to both workspaces.

Shared data

Blue shares this data across all workspaces that contain the record:

  • Record name and description
  • Custom field values for fields that exist in both workspaces
  • Comments and chat
  • Checklists and checklist items
  • File attachments
  • Cover image
  • Assignees, tags, dates

Workspace-specific data

Each workspace stores these values separately:

  • List: The record can be in “To do” in one workspace and “In review” in another.
  • Workspace-only custom fields: A field that exists in only one workspace stores its value in that workspace.
  • Position: Each workspace keeps a separate drag order within its list.

Remove a record from a workspace

  1. Open the record in the workspace from which you want to remove it.
  2. Find the workspace in the Workspaces field.
  3. Select the remove control on its workspace chip. The record remains in its other workspaces.
