Assignee

The Assignee custom field adds role-specific people fields to records. You can add multiple Assignee fields to a workspace alongside the built-in Assignee.

For example, create separate fields for a Reviewer, Approver, Account Manager, or Inspector. You can then filter, sort, group, automate, and chart each role independently.

Configure an Assignee field

Configure each Assignee field with these options:

• Single or multi-person: Choose whether the field accepts one user or multiple users.
• Restricted to specific users or roles: Limit selections to specific people or a user role. For example, restrict a “Senior Reviewer” field to one role or a selected group of people.

Use Assignee field data

You can use an Assignee field to:

• Filter records by the people in the field.
• Sort records by the field.
• Group records by Assignee in the database, board, and calendar views.
• Trigger automations, such as sending an email when an Approver is set.
• Include Assignee data in dashboards and charts.
• Accept Assignee selections on public forms.
